  Dr. Jeffrey Angles     Angles 先生はあたまがいいですからイベントはとてもおもしろかったです。What Dr. Angles said about accents especially resonated with me. With 日本語を話す as well as human beings in general, it's comforting to think about our differences as beautiful. It takes some of the pressure off. そして、 Angles 先生の詩を聞くのが好きでした。His poem about the fire festival was probably my favorite because it's about becoming an adult and becoming inspired.  Lastly, it was very interesting to listen to a "fluent" non-native speaker. I can't even imagine how good at Japanese he must be to translate literature.   

 Kuroko no Baske(t) Kuroko no Baske(t) is a sports anime about basketball. The anime follows Sieren highschool's basketball team after two talented first years join the team. One first year is huge, athletic, and incredibly skilled. The other is a small scrawny player whose specialty is being invisible on the court. together these two players and the rest of the Seiren team take on the inter-high and winter cup in hopes of winning a national title. This anime is fun to watch as long as you do not take it too seriously. I say this because it's not very faithful to the sport of basketball. It often takes liberties with what is realistic in a game as well as can often "jump the shark" because it's not power scaled very well. With that said it's still fun to watch in small doses.
