Why Nihongo?
Why, after spending four long and tedious years in high school learning Spanish, did I choose to start over from scratch with a much more difficult and much more tedious language? Two main reasons... the first is noble, the second is not. Language is the basis for all that we think and understand, making it hugely important in shaping our worldviews. By learning another language from a culture so drastically different from my own, I hope that I might be able to better understand a different world view and broaden my understanding of my surroundings. My second reason is Anime and Japanese food. I love Anime and credit it for making me the person I am today and Japanese food is just straight up delicious.
